Copywriting in Korea

The Lightwork Labs team has just returned from a team building event in Korea. It was pretty cool seeing the sights there and literally cool to get away from the sweltering Malaysian heat.

One of the things we noticed was that there seems to be a shortage of English language copywriters in Korea, resulting in some rather amusing typos and grammatical errors. Some of these errors were permanently affixed to very expensive high tech buildings, which seems a pity.

There seems to be a problem with both the copywriting and the design work in this image. We're not sure exactly what the baby is resting inside of, or why it's having a staring contest with an armless man.

To our utmost disappointment, there isn't a museum in Korea with a stunning collection of forks after all. We followed the sign and had to settle with a Folk Museum instead.

Feeble people beware.

We tried our best, but its hard when carrying bowls of it around with crying cats all over the place.

Your paper won't be tore well, it will be tore badly.

Foot your right foot forward.

This one surprised us. We know that 'U' is right next to 'I' on the keyboard but come on people! At first we wondered whether it was the local spelling but no, Ikea is Ikea everywhere.

Slowly approach the tap with your hands up. No sudden movements.

So the moral of the story is, get a copywriter to write or at least check through your copy to avoid embarrassing mistakes for picky people like us to post about on the internet!
