Just a quick post because this is pretty impressive.
Ships are being built bigger and bigger these days. In fact, many experts think we have now reached the peak for ship sizes, and it doesn't make economical sense to go any bigger.
Necessary or not, these huge ships are engineering marvels. The logistics of building one of these giants is crazily complicated. And after you've built a ginormous ship on land, how do you get it into the water?
It turns out you pretty much just dump it in and hope it doesn't tip over (ok, a bit more than hope!). And its pretty interesting to see the resulting splash. Take a skim through this video (its about 10 minutes long, so you only need to skim it to get the idea).
Have a great week ahead guys and girls!
